COREY O’Keeffe says Barnsley will ‘regroup’ once they secure a place in League One’s top six while his message to the fans is: ‘get behind us and we’ll bring it home.’

The Reds were in top two contention last month but are now fifth, four points clear in the top six with two games left.

O’Keeffe told the Chronicle: “Last month we were in a very good position and we haven’t had the best results.

“But it’s still the same goal to get promoted whether it’s automatic or play-offs.

“As soon as we get those points (to get in the top six), we regroup and look forward to the play-offs.

“To the fans, just stick with us and get behind us and we’ll bring it home.”

Teenage striker Fabio Jalo netted his first senior league goal this week. O’Keeffe said: “In training, he’s just a joke.

“Some of the things he does you are just like ‘wow’.

“It’s good he’s showing it in games. He’s definitely got a big future. He’s getting a lot of confidence now as well.

“Before he was the young lad but now he is training with us full-time.”

O’Keeffe himself is Barnsley’s top assist-maker this season with six, as well as scoring three goals.

“I want to add as much as I can to the team. I have a few assists and goals and I want to keep that going. As long as I help the team I am happy.”
